Federal officials and town police busted two "established" drug dealers Friday and seized more than $10,000 worth of illegal drugs and $4,500 in cash, said police.
"These guys have been selling drugs all over the place," Police Director Michael E. Indri said.
Adner Nunez, 50, and Victor Perez, 33, both of the 500 block of 62nd Street in West New York, were arrested around 7:40 p.m. Friday in coordinated stings.
Perez was arrested at a health store on Bergenline Avenue where both he and Nunez worked. Nunez was arrested at the pair's second floor apartment, according to police reports.
Indri said members of the Department of Homeland Security, aided by West New York K-9 units and the SWAT team made the arrests.
When authorities searched the 62nd Street apartment, they found several different illegal drugs, including 66 grams of cocaine and 21 oxycodone pills, and marijuana, reports state.
Both Perez and Nunez were charged with several drug counts, including two counts of distribution, possession of cocaine and oxycodone, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and conspiracy to distribute CDS.
They were both also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, which Indri declined to identify.
Both men were released from the Hudson County jail in Kearny after each posting $100,000 bail, Indri said.
